Action Week 1 Day 1: Choose to Start in 2010

I finally had the chance to watch "Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs." There is one scene when the mayor whispers in Flint's ear, "It's your choice." Flint had to choose to do what his father thought was best or listen to the Mayor and hope to be loved and admired by all. The mayor just kept whispering in his ear convincing him to choose what the the mayor wanted.

We all have our Flint moment. We know what our Father wants us to do but other voices keep whispering in our ear to choose something that sounds better. But just like Flint we have to learn that our Father is trying to set us on the right path, but we need to learn it before we are trying to save ourselves and before our lives are just one big giant mess swirling and falling apart around us.

For those of you that have been on this journey with me from the beginning, you know what your Father wants you to choose. (If you are just now joining us on this journey, please go back and start with the first blog of this study. I don't want you to miss out on anything.) It is time we start choosing. It is a new year. It is a cold winter. So what better time to get our lives, health and homes back on track by making the right choices.

I still will be blogging about choices to help get rid of the mess and stress. But I also will be giving us a daily action plan. We are going to do this together. You will be doing it with the others who have gone on this journey. It is now time to choose to act.

January's Action Plan:
Choose to clean out one closet.

This week's action plan:
Choose to clean out the junk drawer.
Choose to memorize Ephesians 5:15-16 "Be very careful, then, how you live-not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil."

Today's action plan:
Choose to pray for your week and your family's week.
Choose to read Ephesians 5

Choose to jog, dance, and/or jump rope for 15 minutes. Have fun with it. Get the kids to join in.
Choose to do a Family 15 and pick up the house at the end of the day.
